MobileMe

Just signed up for Apple’s online services. Normally £59.99 a year but you get a 60-day free trial. It appeals to me because it syncs all my contacts, bookmarks and calendar information from my Mac to my iPhone and vice versa. It also throws in a new Mail account, 20GB of online storage including a domain name, and a Find My iPhone feature which pinpoints your handset’s location if it gets lost.

Feedback to Apple: I don’t need all the extraneous stuff. Do a pared down version of MobileMe which gives you the syncing, a backup service and the Find My iPhone feature. Sell it for £10 a year. You would sell a subscription with every iPhone, guaranteed. I won’t be paying nigh on £60 to continue my subscription - it’s just not compelling enough.
